Stewart’s 40 points were enough to beat a strong field of 56 contestants, including four out-of-town players from Willows Townsville and Blue Lake and North Lakes, South Australia, across the three grades at the Mount Isa Golf Club.
Jacob Smith claimed the B grade title with 44 points on a countback from John Rodden and the disqualified Darrel Kropp.
Nils Krutzfeldt was too strong in C grade with 48 points, narrowly ousting Darren Rogers with 46 points.
In the ball run down, those to receive a ball were John Makkai (43 points), John Lodewyk (43 points), Greg Bellinger (41 points) and Paul Griffiths (41 points).
Nearest to the pin recipients were John Lodewyk (second hole), Robbie Murphy (fifth), Jamie Stewart (eighth and 10th), Tim Burraston (ninth), visitor Dean Underwood (11th), Grant Rodwell (14th) and Bill Ellis (18th).
Golfers around the region backed up on Sunday in the 2014 Mount Isa Holden Scramble, which was a four-ball Ambrose format.
Foursome Manu Ruri, Mike Ruri, Peter Armstrong and Jos Pouesi combined for a sensational score of 59 gross (52 net).
The quartet’s score of 13 under the card was too strong for runners-up Mark Thinee, Rob Ferris, Brent Clark and Matt Parker’s 61 gross (54.125 net).
Peter Montgomery, Ron Corstiaans, Tim Burraston and Matt Langfield’s 11 under (61 gross, 54.125 net) saw them secure third.
Nearest to the pin were Ron Corstiaans (fifth hole), Manu Ruri (eighth), Mike Ruri (10th) and Robbie Murphy (14th).
Brent Clark (first hole) and Jay Lloyd (13th) claimed the longest drive honours at the Mount Isa Golf Club competition.
