With only one week remaining of the regular season fixtures, the finals match-ups are settled, but the minor premiership is still up for grabs.
The Tigers will look to secure this accolade in this match against the Buffaloes at 12.30pm at Legend Oval.
“The Buffaloes got the better of us in our last encounter, but we are desperate to not let that happen again,” Tigers coach Craig Brice said.
“Sure we would like to extract revenge for the last match, but the minor premiership is enough motivation in itself.”
“It’s something that we set out to achieve at the start of the season.”
Tigers are aiming to send a message to the rest of the league tomorrow, ahead of what is expected to be a fiercely contested finals campaign.
The biggest positive for Brice is the accuracy of the forward line, that is starting to combine with great efficiency.
For the Buffaloes, their heart-breaking loss to the Young Guns by one point means they are resigned to third spot.
“It was a tough loss to swallow after we had so many good stretches in the match,” Buffaloes coach Brad Nunn said.
“And now we can’t get into that top-two and get a second chance in the finals, which could come back to bite us.
“We are hell bent on getting back into the winner’s circle and building on some combinations a week before finals,” Nunn said.
In the weekend’s other match, Lake Nash will be hoping for a slip-up by Tigers to secure the minor-premiership.
To ensure that happens, it needs to take care of business against the fourth-placed Rovers at 2.45pm at Legend Oval.
