Wanderers eventually edged out a tense 19-18 win. In the day’s other match, Wanderers White proved too strong for their Wanderers Blue compatriots, winning 20-17.
A handful of players including Shayne-Elise Lord, Sienna Goddard, Will Webber, Marnie Caldwell, Seth James, Elijah Munns, Cooper Roberts, Maddison Hull, Brandon Pope, Jahiem Chong and Mitch Pocock are showing strong improvement.
In the 3-pitch Wanderers defeated Pirates 17-3, as Rachel Scrimingeour, Malachi Munns, Caitlin Pope, Hannah Smith, Ethan Pocock and Cooper Roberts had solid performances.
In the under 15s action, Pirates went down in both legs of their double header.
Wanderers proved too strong in the first match, defeating Pirates 7-0, thanks to strong hitting from Tyeena Pang, Chloe Walmsley, Aaliyah Hamson, Selena Blakely and Gabby Wakefield.
Pirates were led by Bailey Nardoo, Leila Kolody and Kelli-Anne Dempsey Richards.
In the second match, Red Devils defeated Pirates 9-3, as Jessie Street, Lachlan Winter, Ethan Horne, Patrick Winter and Rhys Shelley starred.
Pirates Ronald Dempsey-Kumsing, Cherise Saltmere and Madison Heggarty backed up well.
In the under 12s, Red Devils forfeited both their matches, which saw scratch matches organised.
