The Leichhardt Services Bowls Club bowler claimed the title after victories against Mount Isa bowling clubs’ Dave Cahill and Cloncurry’s Aaron Marsh.
Cahill was the hot favourite and jumped to an early lead in his match against Jago.
Once Jago settled the lead changed numerous times before Jago held his nerve to come out victorious 25-24.
In his second match-up Jago took care of Marsh, who had previously lost to Cahill.
The All-District champions will now head to Townsville on September 5-6 to compete at the North Queensland titles.
Jago will be the district’s singles representative, with Dino Wildermuth Senior and Junior competing in the doubles.
Bev Peters and Damian McGee (mixed doubles) highlight a 12-strong Mt Isa Bowls Club Blue Pennants team, which will compete on indoor carpet at the Townsville Suburban Club in the finals.
