The Rovers have had the wood over Buffaloes in recent years but this season has seen the shift in the tide.
But that means little as both teams square-off in the elimination final, said Buffaloes coach Brad Nunn.
“Form up to now means absolutely nothing because it all depends on how you turn up to play on the day,” Nunn said.
“Going off the history between us and the Rovers, there is zero doubt in my mind that this is going to being an extremely tough match.”
On the back of strong play from Luan Marsh and Blake Cowley, Buffaloes have had a late season resurgence.
“Apart from our last match where we were missing plenty of key players, the side has really come together in the past two months,” he said.
“A big part of that has been the play of experienced players Luan (Marsh) and Blake (Cowley) who have helped guide some of our inexperienced players.”
With more than 30 players available for selection, Nunn knows selecting his strongest 22 for the match won’t be easy.
Rovers assistant-coach Alex Parker would not comment on the game and recommended speaking with coach Jamie McPherson, who did not return calls yesterday.
