On Monday night members voted in favour of the move 16-13.
Chamber president Travis Crowther emphasised, however, there were still concerns from many small business owners about opening up seven-day trading.
“When it comes to the results we are in favour (of Sunday trading), but many of the members still have concerns about it,” he said.
“But we have to go with the majority of our members.”
In 2009, the chamber had made a submission against Sunday trading.
An online survey of about 110 voters returned a result of 57.5 per cent in support of Sunday trading.
About 50 people attended the seven-day trading forum with the public joining chamber members.
Mr Crowther said the chamber hopes its submission will still be heard in November before the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, despite missing the initial cut-off date to offer a submission.
Concerns remain from chamber members about bigger companies pushing out the smaller grocers.
He said the forum heard of the advantage of smaller businesses, which offer better service than some of the larger chains.
Mr Crowther said Bob Burow, part owner of Colonial Convenience Store, expressed his concern about Sunday trading affecting his business.
