A 40-year-old man has been remanded in custody after appearing in Cleveland Magistrates Court charged over a crash that killed a 65-year-old woman at Alexandra Hills on Thursday.

Troy Anthony Weston, 40, appeared briefly in court charged with manslaughter, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and failing to stop for police.
The man is alleged to have been driving a stolen car that allegedly ran a red light and collided with the side door of the car driven by the 65-year-old Redlands Bay woman.
She was pronounced dead the the scene.
The Queensland Police ethical standards division is investigating because an unmarked police car was attempting to intercept the vehicle at the time the crash occurred.
Police said on Friday the unmarked cars lights and sirens had been activated in Sallows Street and the vehicle failed to stop.
The crash occurred about 1.30pm at the intersection of Finucane and Vienna roads.
The man and his 27-year-old female passenger had to be cut from the car by the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service.
They were both taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in serious but stable conditions.
Police charged the man at the hospital on Friday morning with manslaughter, unlawful use of a vehicle and failing to stop for police.
Mr Weston, wearing a beige jumper, did not speak during his appearance.
No bail application was made and the matter was adjourned to October 30.
He has yet to enter a plea.
A 27-year-old Alexandra Hills woman was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 22.
The Ethical Standards Command is investigating the matter and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
