Matariki will go into the match with a psychological advantage, defeating its opponents 60-30, thanks to superb shooting by forward pair Bonnie MacRae and Wai Emery.
Strikers goal attack Nicole Della Vecchia tried hard and kept her side close until half-time.
In division 2, 2PH Shots used a 19-10 second half against GSCC to set up their 38-25 victory on Thursday.
2PH Shots’ Latash Venz kept the scoreboard ticking over, while Kirsty Cowley dominated in the defensive line.
Centre Paige Drewe was the leading light for her GSCC side.
Panthers’ 13 fourth-quarter goals saw them edge out Workpac Wildcats in their division 3 quarter-final 40-36.
Shooting duo Amelia Adams and Hannah Reeve were the catalyst to the late game surge for the victors.
Wildcats Skylie Wallace (centre) and Cyndi Horsfall (wing defence) were standouts for their side.
In the other division 3 encounter, 11 first quarter goals by Matariki C set up its nine-goal win against Super Nova.
Matariki’s defensive tandem Lilliane Makim and Ricarda Makim held their rivals to just 23 points, while their shooters managed 32.
Super Nova’s goal shooter Kimberley Larkin and goal keeper Tamika Hancy-Tupou played tough in a losing effort.
On the back of a 17-10 second half, Start has cruised to a 27-19 victory against Fantales in the first of the two division 4 quarter-finals.
Attackers Tiarne Hilton and Josie Stokes claimed best on ground for Start, while Fantales goal shooter Kara Glover and wing defence Danielle Morrisby were solid.
The second of the two quarter-finals matched up 2PH Redbacks and St Joeys, with the Redbacks winning.
Nine fourth-quarter goals by shooting pair Brooke Wessels and Christine Sonego sealed the victory for Redbacks.
St Joey’s duo Hannas Boswell and Marg Davis continued their handy form and were unlucky to not be rewarded with a win.
In the final match of the day, Socialites had a hard-fought battle against fellow division 5 rival Starbursts.
In the end, the defence by Socialites’ Renee Keong and Jamie-Lee Cottman set up the 25-22 win.
Starbursts’ pair Maree Grogan (wing defence) and Maggie Dellar (centre) kept their side in the match.
