Children's television presenter Pip Russell has started a television network that will cater to sick children and their families at the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane.

The television network, Juiced, has received support from the Children's Hospital Foundation and TPD media.

Ms Russell has also created crowd-funding campaigns in a bid to gain community support for the program.

Ms Russell, previously a presenter for children's programs Totally Wild and Toasted TV, said that the initiative was designed to engage children who are normally limited to what they can do due to illness.

"Initially, Juiced will run internally within the hospitals so the kids and families can interact with the network and what they want to see," Ms Russell said.

"The next step after that would be to jump online so those kids who are from regional areas can interact with the network as well and make friends because that's one of the main things these kids miss out during their time in hospitals."

The total funds that have been raised through the community and crow-funding currently is $3,000, with $15,000 needed to start production in January next year.

Ms Russell also said that whilst she is bringing a lot of her knowledge on television from her time at Network Ten there are many things that she is still figuring out.

"I have been talking to a lot of people on how to get sponsorship and marketing for the project as well as things like website design," Ms Russell said.

"Basically, anything you can think of, I'm doing it and it's all so foreign to me. I'm really looking for people to guide me."

Juiced will begin basic production at the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane before an official launch at Lady Cilento Children's Hospital.
