TIGERS will head into the AFL Mount Isa grand final against the Lake Nash Young Guns as the underdogs – but that suits the minor premiers just fine.

After narrowly defeating Rovers in last Saturday’s qualifying final, the boys are determined to end their three-game losing streak against Lake Nash.
Tigers coach Craig Brice said his side learned from their recent match-ups against the Young Guns and will make the appropriate changes.
“We know we have a big job ahead of us, especially without inspirational captain Jarryd Harrison, who will miss the game with a broken arm,” he said.
“In the past three matches against the Nashies, the team that is prepared to work the hardest for all four quarters has come out the victor.”
With Harrison missing out, Niall Kilcoyne will step up and take the role of captaincy on the day.
“Niall has led us well before and I have no doubts he can do it again on Saturday,” Brice said.
“Jarryd will still be heavily involved, addressing the boys before the game and having his say at all the breaks.
“Obviously his injury will inspire the boys to want to win the final for him but we can’t just concentrate on that.”
A big week at training has made Brice believe his team can start the match strongly and get an early jump on the Young Guns. “We have had exceptional energy and talk at training this week because everyone is just so excited and ready to play,” he said. “It will be important for us to hit the ground running from the first bounce and kick the first couple of goals.
“If we let the Nashies kick the first few goals, they will build on that confidence and make our job a whole lot harder.”
Harrison isn’t the only Tigers’ star who will miss the final through injury.
“Matthew Dunn is under an injury cloud with his hamstring but when one door closes, another opens, and there have been a couple of guys knocking on the door for a while,” Brice said.
“We welcome back Brodie Deverell, so his inclusion should inject a couple of goals into of forward line.
“Without Jarryd Harrison in the middle, we will quickly rotate players through his position, to ensure that they stay fresh.”
