The drama began on Saturday evening, when the group of four males allegedly stole a 4WD from Sunnybank Hills. It is alleged the group then robbed a Calamavale convenience store armed with a sledgehammer and shovel, also stealing the shop attendant's car.
About 1am on Sunday the car was located at Inala, followed by a pursuit with a police helicopter in the air and police cars on the ground.
Police deployed tyre deflation devices on Ipswich Road, Annerley, which saw the car coming to a halt in Tarragindi, where the group allegedly attempted to flee on foot.
But their alleged crime spree was put to an end by the dog squad.
An 18-year-old Inala man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 17-year-old Inala man was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of burglary and armed robbery in company. Both men are due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday.
A 16-year-old boy from Acacia Ridge was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and a 16-year-old boy from Calamvale was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of burglary and armed robbery in company. They will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
