Reports of the teenager’s disappearance in February sparked a widescale man-hunt that lasted almost two weeks and covered thousands of kilometres of land in the city and at Undilla Station, 60 kilometres outside of Camooweal.
Last month, Kyle’s father Rob Coleman revealed police found a shotgun splattered with Kyle’s blood inside a Mount Isa home and evidence at Undilla Station including the burnt remains of Kyle’s watch, swag material and a piece of doona.
In a bid to continue the search and find more information, Coleman family friend Linda Dahler has asked Mount Isa Facebook users to turn their profile pictures yellow in honour of Kyle’s 18th birthday.
“It has been a little over six months since Kyle’s family and friends have seen him, and instead of planning a party for what should be one of the most important birthdays in a child’s life they are planning and co-ordinating themselves for their next search to try and find their beloved young man,” she said.
“Every day we all hope and pray for information that will lead to him being found and brought home to his family.
“Information is still needed and by changing your [profile] pictures with us you can help to keep Kyle’s case fresh in the minds of people everywhere.”
You can find the profile photos on the “Please help find Kyle Coleman” Facebook Page.
