Queensland's premier has welcomed the arrest of notorious sex predator Robert John Fardon, saying the community would be pleased to see Fardon back behind bars.

Fardon was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after an alleged breach of his strict bail conditions.
Premier Campbell Newman would not comment on the specifics of the case because it was before the courts.
But he said he was pleased Fardon was once again behind bars.
"Of course I am [happy to see Fardon back behind bars]," Mr Newman said.
"I know all men and women, particularly parents, in this state today who care about our kids will be happy to see him in more secure custody."
Fardon appeared in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Wednesday afternoon over claims he had planned to escape from a supervised facility at Wacol.
His defence has told the court the allegations were based on "hearsay".
The hearing continues.
Queensland Corrective Services announced Fardon's arrest on Tuesday afternoon after an alleged breach of a supervision order issued under the Dangerous Prisoner (Sexual Offenders) Act.
Fardon was released under a strict supervision order following a ruling by Supreme Court Justice Debra Mullins in February last year.
He was released on February 14 – Valentine's Day – under 34 conditions, including having to undergo electronic monitoring and abide by a curfew, and abstain from drugs and alcohol.
The Newman government this year conceded defeat in its bid to keep Fardon behind bars.
