Donations have been streaming in for the event, raising money for cancer, with a number of businesses already heaping their support behind the event.
Brogden’s Furniture and Bedding is just one of many supporting Relay For Life after it made a $2500 donation.
A campaign to raise support and awareness started on Saturday with a street party outside Kmart Plaza with a DJ, balloons and a sausage sizzle.
There will also be a Best Dressed Premises competition in Purple Power Week with businesses asked to ‘‘purple up’’ with decorations and staff wearing purple to celebrate.
Residents can nominate businesses through the Relay for Life Facebook page.
The relay will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Mount Isa Rugby Ground.
