McKINLAY Shire Council’s ordinary meeting on Tuesday turned into celebrations after news came through of the arrival of mayor Belinda Murphy’s newborn baby (pictured). Cr Murphy’s text message to Deputy Mayor Tony Batt came with the news she had given birth to a little boy named Liam Roy Murphy , 7 pound 9, and a little brother for Madeline. Cr Murphy had been scheduled to teleconference in for the meeting, not letting her due date get in between her and a council meeting. Not noted in the minutes was the excitement and smiles of all councillors and the CEO. Cr Murphy will not only be getting back into her legislative requirements as soon as possible, but stated she is looking forward to getting back into triathlon training and gym sessions again.
