ON September 20, in the gardens of the ‘‘Kalkadoon’’ Tribal Council grounds a civil marriage was held, between Kalkadoon man Shaun Wilde and his bride Lisa Briscoe, (who was fashionably late, but had Shaun thinking that he was about to experience a run-away bride scenario).

There was a traditional ‘‘welcome to country’’ speech and respectful acknowledgement to the Kalkadoon nation, the traditional owners of the land.
About 100 family and friends celebrated the happy occasion.
The groom’s mother Tiny Wilde and partner Rod were present, together with the bride’s father Gordon who gave her away, and her mother Norma who came from Canberra.
Shaun had his nephew Shaun-Boy as his best man and son Jack as groomsman. Lisa had their daughter Tiza as her flower girl.
The gardens area and platform were decorated by family members with flowers and balloons.
