Joshua Thornbury, 30, faced Southport Magistrates Court yesterday on charges of fraud and possessing stolen property. Thornbury and his elder brother Terrence were arrested in April following police raids across the Gold Coast which netted more than $1 million in cannabis and cash. About $10 million in assets was also seized. Police allege the brothers were the masterminds behind a drug smuggling syndicate which used perfumed suitcases to bring drugs worth millions through Queensland airports.
