Police have busted a fake ID card racket after stopping a man in his car near a Gold Coast shopping centre.

A 24-year-old man was driving on Robina Town Centre Drive when he was stopped by police about 12.40pm on Thursday.
It is alleged officers found two guns, gun shells, a number of blank Queensland driver's licences, a quantity of illicit drugs and a sum of cash in the car.
Police later searched the man's unit on Enderley Avenue at Surfers Paradise where they discovered a number of printers allegedly being used to produce fake ID cards.
The 24-year-old man has been charged with forgery, receiving tainted property and unlawfully possessing weapons, as well as methylamphetamines and cannabis.
He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on Friday.
Investigations are continuing.
