Police say that at 11.47pm, a man entered the store on the Gold Coast Highway and approached the shop assistant behind the counter. He then made demands for money while armed with a small pink-coloured knife.

When the attendant activated an alarm, the man left the store on-foot without any money or property.

The man is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, Caucasian in appearance and around 180cm tall, with dark hair.

There is no further information available, investigations are continuing.
