A Gold Coast bus driver was assaulted and left with cuts to his head and face after driving a passenger, who pleaded for medical attention, to hospital.

The bus driver picked up the 20-year-old man in Surfers Paradise about 2.10am on Monday.
It is alleged the man told the bus driver he needed urgent medical attention and asked to be driven to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
The bus driver allowed the man to travel for free and drove the man directly to the hospital.
But as the bus approached the hospital, the passenger allegedly became aggressive and assaulted the driver.
The assault continued outside the bus before the passenger fled, police said.
The bus driver was left with a cut to the back of his head and bruising on his face. He was treated at the hospital.
The 20-year-old passenger was found inside the hospital a short time later and arrested.
The man, from Surfers Paradise, has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on October 14.
