Labor is looking to target the 99 per cent with their own fundraising campaign, imploring "mums and dads" to donate their small change to help combat the LNP election war chest.

It's a move US President Barrack Obama deployed against his Republican rivals during the 2008 campaign, when people who donated less than $200 made up about one third of the $750 million raised by the Obama campaign.
Queensland Labor, still reeling from its historic 2012 loss which left it with just seven seats (now nine), has struggled to rebuild financial support. It will be asking supporters to donate $5 or $10 "to help fight the LNP machine".
Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk said it would be a "tough campaign".
"We will be running grassroots campaigns right across the state, just like we did in Redcliffe, just like we did in Stafford," she said.
"I am passionate about accountability and integrity in government."
Every dollar is expected to count in the upcoming election, with changes to the electoral act, pushed through by the government earlier this year, giving political parties carte blanche on how much they are able to spend in each electorate.
With the 2015 election campaign ground zero once again shaping up as the Ashgrove electorate, neither party is expected to hold back.
The LNP has already started its campaign to fill its coffers ahead of the election – a $5000-a-head dinner has been planned for October 9, which will give donors access to Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Premier Campbell Newman, Lord Mayor Graham Quirk and former prime minister John Howard.
Places have been capped at 100, but under the changes to the electoral act, donations under $12,400 do not have to be declared to the electoral commission.
Ms Palaszczuk said Labor would continue to declare its donations and implored Mr Newman to do the same.
But government ministers, standing in for Mr Newman, who is on leave this week, said the LNP would continue to act within the law – which it changed.
"Those fundraising events have been happening for many years, people are coming to these events because they support the policies of this government and they want to see the government re-elected," Housing Minister Tim Mander said on Monday.
"Those laws are consistent with the federal laws, we've said to the federal government, if they are going to change those laws, we are happy to follow suit as well. The legal advice we got at the time was we needed to be consistent with the federal laws, so I am totally comfortable with it."
LNP state president, Brad Henderson, also defended the event.
"Unlike Labor, the LNP's past and present leaders enjoy being in the same room together. They command deep respect among party supporters who are keen to hear them talk about strong leadership of united teams that are achieving real results for Queensland and Australia," he said in a statement.
"The event, which is being organised by the LNP ahead of the 2015 state election, complies with all state and federal electoral laws.
"The LNP does not have the heavy financial backing of the unions as Labor does and instead relies on the general community for support."
An election date is yet to be set.
