RABAUL: It starts well before most players even wake. By 8am there are dozens of kids outside the team's hotel trying to get a glimpse of the players. Word has passed through the village that Greg Bird has been spontaneously hurling the 40-odd new Gold Coast Titans jerseys he brought with him from his balcony in recent days – creating a mini frenzy.
