The club was selected from more than 1000 teams across the country to receive one of 90 Grants for Grassroots.
The club was awarded a cash grant of $1000 and training gear including training balls, ground markers and ball bags at a special presentation held at the weekend.
Michael Hussey, former Australian Test cricketer and CommBank Cricket Club Ambassador. said the Grants for Grassroots provided deserving clubs with vital support.
“The Western Bulls Cricket Club plays an important role in the community, so it’s great to see them recognised by the CommBank Cricket Club,” Hussey said.
“There are a number of cricket clubs out there who could do with extra support.
“These grants provide clubs with a helping hand to make grassroots cricket even better for local players.”
Mount Isa Commonwealth Bank branch manager Vicki Ryan said the branch was delighted to see Western Bulls Cricket Club rewarded with the CommBank Cricket Club grant.
“CommBank has been supporting Australian grassroots cricket for more than 27 years,” she said.
“We’re proud to play a role in keeping cricket thriving in the community and hope this grant will contribute to a successful season for the club.”
