“There is so much one can look forward to,” he said at his O’Neill Chiropractic premises on Marian Street.
Fossicking will be one pursuit.
“I really enjoyed the fossicking available here and the lapidary club that fosters this. I have a very nice collection of semi-precious stones and many other interesting rocks found here; they will keep me busy for quite some time,” he says.
Travel will be another – but with a twist.
“I’m hoping to organise my mobile home/clinic and then do my grey nomad thing travelling to small towns and stations offering chiropractic services, etcetera across the Top End,” he says.
Also in the big picture is Mount Isa where Mr Skinner has practised for the past four years after “starting his second career” as a chiropractor in 1973 in Sydney.
‘‘I don’t like the summer but love the friends we made here and I will be back from time to time, not only to help out my son Mark and his wife Carley who will run the business, but also to catch up with friends.”
