A commission spokeswoman would not confirm or deny if Mr Cianetti was the council employee under investigation. However, a “number of allegations” were made against the Mount Isa City Council, the spokeswoman said.
“The matter did not meet the threshold for the CCC to closely monitor the council’s investigation,” she said.
But the commission can audit the way agencies deal with matters, the spokeswoman said.
“During audits the CCC may determine whether action taken by an agency was appropriate.”
The former Crime and Misconduct Commission referred a number of allegations to the Queensland Police Service when complaints were initially made.
“The CCC took into consideration the QPS’s investigation and findings and determined that the outstanding allegations did not meet the threshold for investigation by the CCC,” the spokeswoman said.
Mayor Tony McGrady said there were complaints made about four council employees, including Mr Cianetti.
