It is believed the machine was chained to a stolen vehicle by two people before it was driven out of the store.

Police said the offenders entered the Caltex 24-hour service station on Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road at Mackenzie about 3.45am.

While a staff member was out the back, the men were able to dislodge the machine and load it into their vehicle.

Investigators are searching for the offenders.

Staff at the store declined to comment.
