‘‘We are confident of having a genuine, worthy candidate to contest the upcoming election,” he said.
“We have got the message, loud and clear, that Queenslanders are sick and tired of the antics of ego-driven politicians, and the stand-over tactics from political parties of all persuasions, who put self-interest ahead of their constituents.”
Mr McCullough said the Mount Isa electorate needed a strong representative, with “knowledge of community requirements, who shares an affinity with the population and the ability to stand up and fight for the electorate in Parliament”.
Mr McCullough said the branch was looking for a candidate who had ‘‘traditional Australian values’’.
