The 11th Gathering of Community Prayers for Rain was held yesterday at the Mount Isa Civic Centre by the Mount Isa Council of Christian Churches.
Father Lowcock reflected on the years of rain and drought in the Mount Isa area and asked God to bless the city with rain to help the community thrive and to give people hope.
“We organise this event every year to give people a little hope,” he said.
“We are not alone in this situation but there are many places in this world that suffer from drought and we look forward to everything being awash.
“We ask the Lord to send us rain.”
