Brisbane Roar host Sydney FC on Friday night with a zero in the points column but captain Matt Smith insists there's no need for panic despite a flat start to the season.

The Roar conceded late goals in a 3-2 away loss to Perth Glory last week to compound a season-opening defeat at the hands of Adelaide United.
The cracks in defence have presented a concern but the A-League champions remain as confident as ever in their systems under coach Mike Mulvey, who brings up 50 games in charge when Sydney hit town.
Smith said Brisbane were happy to wear any criticism and felt win number one for the season was just around the corner.
"We've been in both games. If people want to judge us and write us off after two games, let them do that. We're more than focused on what we need to do. It's just about transferring that from training and getting it right in the games," Smith said.
"As long as we're performing better than previous weeks, we're happy. If we perform the way we performed on the weekend, we'll win more than we lose."
Sydney were tipped out of the FFA Cup by Adelaide United on Tuesday night but Smith had little doubt the Sky Blues were be at full force at Suncorp Stadium.
He said Brisbane would spend the week 'fine tuning' and felt new signing Mensur Kurtishi, who replaces outgoing striker Besart Berisha, was quickly adapting to the Roar program.
"We haven't got the points on the board but we've never been a team that's really focused on that. If you look at the past two games and the way we tried to do things, our performances have been really encouraging. I think we need to fine tune those one percent things that are making a difference at the moment," Smith said.
"The message is pretty simple for us. It's all about how we go about doing things. We're certainly not panicking. We'd like points on the board but we know they will come."
