Melbourne's nightmarish recent history at the national draft table has continued with the club delisting former top-20 draft picks Sam Blease and James Strauss.

Blease and Strauss could only manage 33 and 24 games respectively in their six-season stints at the Demons with injuries playing their part in curtailing their careers.
Since 2006, Tom Scully (pick one), Cale Morton (four), Jordan Gysberts (11), James Frawley (12), Lucas Cook (12), Blease (17), Strauss (19) and Addam Maric (21) have departed the club.
The career of Jack Trengove (two) hangs in the balance after he suffered a recurrence of a navicular injury in his foot recently while Jack Watts (one) and Luke Tapscott (18) have failed to make a meaningful impact in their time at the Demons.
Last month, Blease had expressed his desire to be traded to another club during the recent exchange period but a deal could not be done.
However, it was reported on Geelong's official website on Thursday that the Cats were interested in picking up the 23-year-old in the delisted free agency period which begins on November 1.
Blease told AFL Trade Radio recently that he was confident of getting another chance at the top level.
"Obviously the time at Melbourne has been a little bit inconsistent, and I've taken this opportunity over this break to work on some things ... endurance being one of those," Blease said.
"I think it's put me in good stead for another opportunity.
"This year has been a little bit different to previous years where I've sort of felt that this was my most consistent VFL season."
Melbourne also delisted rookie defender Alex Georgiou. Georgiou played seven games in 2014, which was his first year at the club.
The Demons head to next month's national draft with selections two, three, 40, 53, 83, 97 and 115.
They have already committed one of their third-round selections (42) to father-son recruit Billy Stretch – son of former Melbourne star Steven Stretch.
