The most pleasing thing for Black Stars captain Ian Barlow is that it hasn’t just been one or two players carrying the side.
“Unlike in previous seasons where we have relied upon a couple of blokes to get us over the line, it’s great to see all the boys chipping in and contributing,” he said.
“The victories are nice and will hopefully continue to come if players keep doing their roles.”
Western Bulls will be looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Cavaliers at Sunset Oval.
“I’m hoping we field a stronger side than we had play last week, because we were very light on in the bowling department,” Bulls coach Adrian Morrisby said.
“We won’t confirm numbers ’til Friday night but I’m hoping Hamish Wright is available after missing the first two matches.
“His inclusion should bolster the bowling attack and take pressure off Nick Diamond, Kyle Anderson and myself.”
Morrisby has emphasised that the team has spent extra time on fielding and bowling this week at practice.
“Our fielding and bowling really let us down last week, so we have concentrated on that aspect of our game,” he said.
“We have been guilty of not being able to get both our bowling and batting on the same page recently, so hopefully both click this Saturday.”
