Police are searching for a fake cop armed with a gun who pulled over a motorist at Woolloongabba on Thursday night.

A 29-year-old man was intercepted along Turbo Drive around 9.15pm by a white dual cab utility flashing its headlights.
He pulled over, and a male occupant of the ute produced a firearm and claimed he was an undercover police officer.
The fake cop then searched the man's vehicle for more than an hour before allowing him to leave.
The driver was not injured during the encounter.
He's described the man as Caucasian in appearance, 182cm tall with blue eyes.
Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the ute in the area at the time, and have urged any driver who believes an unmarked car attempting to intercept them is not a police vehicle should ring Triple Zero.
QPS advised if a motorist found themselves in a similar situation, they should stop in a well-lit area near other people, keep the car doors locked and windows closed, ask to see the person's police identification and inform them you will call police to verify it.
