SGC chief executive officer Bob Wilson said the Sarus Crane Awards recognised individuals and groups which made a significant contribution to improving land management or the environment.
“The awards give SGC the opportunity to recognise the extra effort made by individuals and groups that have achieved something special within our communities, which has changed our environment,” he said.
“To be able to present a Junior Sarus Crane award for the past two years has been marvellous and we would like to continue this in 2014.
“I encourage everyone to nominate that special person or group wherever possible.”
There are two categories to choose from: the Sarus Crane Award for individuals and groups, and the Junior Sarus Crane Award for under 18s.
Nominations close on November 7 with winners announced at the general meeting on November 27.
