Both teams had chances to win, but Pandas held their nerve in the final quarter to hold on for the win.
Panda duo Zachary Bell (six points) and Simon Ishmael (eight points) top-scored for their side, while Home Boiz’ Aaron Quilty scored a game-high nine points.
In the other A grade match, Blazers had four players in double figures as they won 66-51 against Sonic Boom.
Jamie Soapi scored a game-high 21 points for Blazers and was supported by teammates Courtney Ward (14 points), Scott Amor (10 points) and John Dempsey (10 points).
Sonic guard Joshua McCrae kept his team close for most of the match with 19 points, including multiple three-point baskets.
In the Mitch men’s B grade competition, P.Pride proved too strong for their Pandamonium B opponents.
P.Pride guard Jomari Caseres scored 15 points as his side won 42-31 at the Mount Isa Indoor Sports Stadium.
Panda’s forward Matthew Clark dropped 12 points in the loss.
Manila players Sia Blake (12 points) and Jessie Caseres (nine points) led their side to a 34-12 win against Blazers B, in a dominant performance by the victors.
Celtics B edged out Reece 27-20 in a tight and physical encounter on Thursday night.
Craig Hodgetts (six points) and Shane McDonald (seven points) led the Celtics, while Derek Collison scored a game-high nine points for Reece.
