According to RACQ CareFlight, eight German tourists were also involved in the incident, with two women in their twenties airlifed to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition after suffering undisclosed injuries.

Five passengers have been taken to Gympie Hospital with injuries.

The tourist who died is believed to also be from Germany.

The Fraser Coast Chronicle reports the woman was part of a tag-along tour travelling to the Inskip barge when the rollover occured about 2pm.

The incident occured on the southern tip of Fraser Island near Jabiru Swamp.

Other occupants were treated by the Queensland Ambulance Service at the scene and the Wide Bay Forensic Crash Unit is on its way to the island.

CareFlight has been called to Fraser Island three other times in the last month, to airlift a Brisbane man to hospital with suspected ribs on October 5, then to airlift a woman from the island with a suspected snake bite a week later. A team was also called to the scene of a single vehicle rollover yesterday.
