CENTRAL COAST: POLICE have charged a man with accessory to murder in connection with the disappearance of a Central Coast man in 1995.

The man, who was aged 61 at the time of his disappearance, was last seen at a house in Bateau Bay on Thursday, October 12, 1995.
Two weeks later, on Friday,October 27, the man’s white Mazda van was found burnt-out in bushland on Berkeley Road, Berkeley Vale.
Strike Force Rankmore was later established to investigate the man’s disappearance and suspected murder.
In May this year, detectives were investigating links between the man’s disappearance and the shooting of a 24-year-old woman near Wyong Local Court on Tuesday, November 21, 1995.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Gosford Hospital. She was later released.
A 60-year-old man was arrested over the shooting on Thursday, May 15 and appeared before Gosford Local Court the following day.
After further investigations, on Friday police went to Silverwater jail and arrested and charged a 43-year-old man with accessory after the fact to murder, steal motor vehicle, receive stolen property and damage property by fire.
He’s due to appear before Gosford Local Court on Friday, November 7.
Detectives are continuing their investigations into the incident and are appealing for anyone with information that could assist to come forward by contacting Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
