The Blues will become the third team in as many years to face St Kilda in New Zealand, joining Sydney and Brisbane, when they participate in what will be a marathon day of football in round four next season.
There will be five matches on Anzac Day as it falls on a Saturday. While the number of matches is expected to drop to the customary three the following season, the Wellington clash will remain.
Blues chief executive Steven Trigg said the Blues would consider an annual trip across the Tasman.
"That is a possibility. It's not a difficult exercise straight across the Tasman from here, obviously. I don't know what the AFL's view is but we would certainly have an open mind," he said.
Trigg said the Blues were "delighted" to have the opportunity next season.
"We would like to make as much of it culturally as we can with St Kilda and we will be sitting with them shortly to see how that comes together," he said.
The Blues and Saints had attempted to make a success of an annual Monday night clash over the Mother's Day weekend, but that fixture has been scrapped next year. There will be no Sunday night or Monday games in 2015.
"I am not a big fan of Monday night footy at all. You talk about fan-friendly timeslots, I would have thought - unless you get the right Monday - it's a particularly unfriendly fan timeslot," Trigg said.
Since joining the Blues from Adelaide in August, Trigg has worked feverishly on a new strategic plan, likely to be unveiled in December. One focus of the plan is expected to be on reconnecting former members, supporters, players, board members and officials.
"We are tidying up some elements of that, striving to be really clear what we need to do to be as successful as we want to be. That is not a five-minute exercise. That has taken all this time and will take a little bit longer," Trigg said.
"Whilst this club has an unbelievable reach, incredible history, extraordinary network, it has a lot of work to do to have that reach and those people feel feeling connected and engaged with their club."
