The move would see a two-pronged North West representation at the Titans, with Moseley joining Normanton’s Davin Crampton on the Gold Coast.
Gold Coast CEO Graham Annesley confirmed the Titans were positive they could lure Moseley from the Penrith Panthers.
“We’re hopeful of getting his signature on the dotted line, but nothing has been completed yet,” he said.
Annesley confirmed the negotiations were “well advanced” and part of an exciting phase under new coach Neil Henry.
Moseley made his long-awaited NRL debut with the Panthers last year but the club has a string of solid players for the hooker’s role with James Segeyaro and premiership-winning recruit Apisai Koroisau.
The 20-year-old would join Crampton after the Normanton star signed a one-year deal with the Titans.
Moseley’s move could see him snare a starting role at the Titans with hooker Matt Srama told by the club that he can look elsewhere, with the scene set for Moseley to fill the role at hooker. The Titans already have three hookers – Beau Falloon, Paul Carter and Daniel Mortimer on their roster – but it’s likely Moseley would be a chance to jump the cue ahead of them.
Mortimer is an NRL journeyman, who was let go by both Parramatta and the Roosters, while Carter is a makeshift hooker, who is better suited to playing in the back row.
Moseley made his NRL debut against Manly Sea Eagles in round 25 at Brookvale Oval, before helping to guide his NSW Cup side to glory against Newcastle, 48-12.
The move would see the under 20s Queensland and Australian representative form a strong North West representation at the Titans as he links with Crampton.
The pair played against each other in the inaugural NRL State Championship, where Crampton’s Northern Pride defeated Moseley’s Panthers, 32-28, in the NRL grand final curtain raiser.
Moseley also won the National Youth Championship in 2013.
