But the G20 Cultural program still has two days of events left, and the suburbs are the places to be.
Colourful community events will offer a wide range of entertainment including food, live music, workshops, games, competitions and markets.
Saturday November 15
2pm-6pm. Bands in Parks - The Gap. Delicious gourmet food and free entertainment is on offer at this event, which also features live music by bands including Brass Roots, Still Standing and The Establishment; an interactive African drumming workshop and a "crafternoon" caravan. 4pm-8pm. Great Get Together - Sandgate. Einbunpin Lagoon will play host to this special twilight event which will include a silent disco with DJ Bacon, indie markets and amazing art installations created by the local community. 5pm. Women in Docs - Samford Village. The beloved Brisbane folk pop duo will perform new favourites and classics, supported by country music sweethearts Dozzi. Samford Valley Hotel. More information online.
5pm. The Town Hall Sessions - Sandgate. This picturesque, heritage-listed building will host eight-piece rock band Halfway, funk-folk-soul band Stormchasers, as well as Harley and the Haymakers. Corner of Cliff and Seymour Streets. More information online.
Sunday November 16
9am-1pm. Great Get Together - Seventeen Mile Rocks. Children will be entertained by circus workshops, kite-making, inflatable soccer matches with Brisbane Roar and cubby building. 12pm-8pm. Pool party - Yeronga. To celebrate the Yeronga Park Pool's 50th anniversary, popular local DJ and producer Sampology will perform with friends at this free all-ages pool party. He'll be joined on the stage by Tom Thum, U Wolf Wolf (live) Tyler Touche, Yale and Yumo. School Road. More information online.
2pm-6pm. Bands in Parks - Macgregor. Activities and entertainment galore at this event, including a performance by the Sunnybank Brass ensemble. DM Henderson Park. More information online.
3.30pm. The Redcliffe Sunday Nice-Up. Reggae and dub-playing Kingfisha and the dance-floor filling OKA will perform at this rocking concert. Rounding out the bill is the one and only Andy Dub keeping the vibes level all afternoon. The Belvedere Hotel, Woody Point. More information online.
4pm-8pm. Great Get Together - Wynnum. Indulge in gourmet treats while listening to live music along the waterfront. Wander with playful performers and enjoy the art and sculpture installations.
