Carlton's top recruit Kristian Jaksch has a stress reaction in the navicular bone of his foot and will miss the next two and a half months of pre-season training as they seek manage the potentially serious injury.

The gun recruit for whom the Blues gave up a top ten draft pick in the trade exchange, has a stress reaction in his navicular but not a stress fracture. A CT scan Monday morning confirmed MRI scans of the foot taken on Saturday.
"It's better news than we thought i tmight have been," Carlton football manager Andrew Mackay said.
"Luckily it's not a stress fracture, it's a stress reaction. We have been lucky we have caught it early. But he will miss 10 weeks of training."
A navicular injury was the same problem that Melbourne's Jack Trengove has and which blocked his trade to the Tigers. Trengove had been troubled by the injury last year and ascans this year revealed it had not repared properly. Collingwood's Alex Fasolo also had a navicular problem and missed most of the year in 2013.
Jaksch, who has been back in training for several weeks with the 1-4 year players, did not train with the Blues on Monday.
The key position player, veiwed primarily as a key defender, was taken with pick 12 in the 2012 dsraft by the GWS Giants. He played well on Lachie Henderson when GWS upset the Blues last year.
Carlton gave up pick seven in this year's national draft to GWS receiving in return Jaksch pick 19 and Mark Whiley.
