Co-ordinator Johanna Moore said there would be 26 market stalls at the two-day festival, extending the markets into the nearby breezeway as there was no more room in the Shire Hall.
Free entertainment at the festival would include Anglicare Digital Stories, laser tag, performances by the Memphis Moovers and a balloon workshop. Night markets will begin 6pm, Friday.
The Get Ready Awards Ceremony will be held from 11am to about 2pm on Saturday, which will include giveaways and stalls representing emergency services.
Carols by Candlelight will be held at Florence Clarke Park with performances by St Joseph’s Catholic School students at 7pm.
Children will receive presents from Santa Claus through the Uniting Care drought fund.
Ms Moore said every child would receive a present and they would be able to have their photograph taken under the Christmas tree in the Community Precinct.
There will be free rides in Dajarra on Sunday, with entertainment from the Memphis Moovers.
