Mount Isa-based jockey Dan Ballard took out both the North West (34 wins) and Mount Isa (14 wins) awards for leading rider.
Aaron Spradau (27.5 wins) was in second spot for the North West riders award with Tash Chambers (25.5 wins) in third.
Apprentice jockey Tamara Tincknell was in fourth spot with 13 wins but she was only one win off Dan Ballard for the leading rider award in Mount Isa.
Tincknell’s success is even more highly regarded considering she still claims two kilograms as an apprentice.
Tincknell was awarded the top apprentice jockey award.
Ballard’s success riding ranks was capped with his mum Denise taking out the top trainer’s gong for the North West (31 wins).
Patrick Inwood scored the top trainer in Mount Isa award with 20 wins, ahead of Denise Ballard on 16 victories.
Inwood was the runner-up for North West wins with 20 victories and Jay Morris in third (15 wins).
The North West horse of the year was the Philp Miller-trained Tap In Birdie (seven wins), from Bianco Rossa (5 wins) and Bullrama (four wins).
Bianco Rossa was named the Mount Isa horse of the year with five wins, from Outstandingly (four wins) and Rocket On By (three wins).
