As Perth's Lord Mayor, Lisa Scaffidi maintains an image of a fine upstanding citizen, but it seems she has a vice - peeking at presents under the Christmas tree.
Ms Scaffidi flexed her vocal cords and performed a duet with 92.9 breakfast radio host Will McMahon, which was broadcast on Friday morning.
"My present's wrapped under the tree, but with no hole I cannot see, the wrapping won't let me stare," she sang.
At one point, Ms Scaffidi sang of "suspense so intense" that she was tempted to "burn down the Christmas tree".
The song was a parody of 2008 hit No Air by American singers Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown.
Rather than lamenting a lost love, this reimagined version had McMahon and Scaffidi pining for a peek at their Christmas presents and complaining that there was "no tear" in the wrapping.
An insider said Ms Scaffidi was particularly enthusiastic about the stunt, and arrived at the studio well prepared before spending a full hour in the recording booth.
Each of 92.9's breakfast presenters - Heidi, Will and Woody – recorded a special Christmas song, but McMahon was the only one who didn't have a professional singer on side.
Heidi Anderson covered Beyonce's Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) with Samantha Jade, while Woody Whitelaw and Rob Mills took on the Baha Men's Who Let the Dogs Out.
