The latest Australian Bureau of Statistics Labour Force figures put the state's November seasonally-adjusted and trend jobless rate at 6.9 per cent.

Seasonally adjusted, that is a 0.2 per cent drop from last October's high of 7.1 per cent, the largest decrease in seasonally adjusted data across the country. The trend rate is up 0.1 per cent.

In real terms, 8100 jobs were lost, seasonally adjusted, while the trend data points to 3600 full time jobs lost.

The nation's unemployment rate, using the seasonally adjusted data, is 6.3 per cent.

While the Apple Isle tied with Queensland for the wooden spoon in the unemployment stakes, Victoria is not far behind with a 6.8 per cent.

South Australia dropped 0.1 per cent to 6.6 per cent, while New South Wales (6 per cent) and Western Australia (5.2 per cent) both came in under the national average.

The Queensland Opposition seized on the data.

"Treasurer Tim Nicholls inherited from Labor a jobless rate of 5.5 per cent and has done nothing except sit by and watch it rise and rise and rise," Curtis Pitt said.

"...Campbell Newman said before the 2012 election he had a plan for a 4 per cent jobless rate that did not rely on asset sales. Now the only plan he has is to sell assets which will see more jobs go and the cost of living rise as power bills go up.

"The LNP has a plan for asset sales when what Queenslanders really need is a plan for jobs."

Premier Campbell Newman said 2015 would see the state turn around and has repeatedly pointed out Queensland was on track to have the nation's number one economy next year.

A slowdown in gas construction projects, as the industry moves to the production phase, combined with a delay in new mining projects beginning and a downturn in the tourism industry have also contributed to the state's rate.
