A reliable source tells us Santa will be cruising on a heritage softail at the Mount Isa Christmas Lights Tour on Friday.
Because that is how Mr Claus rolls.
Mount Isa Harley Owners Group [HOGS] director Tony Moloney said Santa would be riding as part of the tour, which was a great event for the community.
“It is not just bikes, but the whole community is involved,” Mr Moloney said.
Mount Isa’s police cars will lead the tour.
Mr Moloney said it was the first year HOGS had been involved.
“Organisers asked us to come along,” he said.
“We like to be involved in as many community things as we can.”
Event organiser Megan Crowther was excited to learn about Santa’s travelling arrangements.
“What a hardcore Santa,” she said.
Mrs Crowther said this was the fourth Christmas Lights Tour and she believed it would be “bigger and better” than the previous years.
Christmas light decorators in Mount Isa were getting better, she said.
“They are very talented this year,” Mrs Crowther said.
The Mount Isa Christmas Lights Tour begins in the Barkly Hotel car park on Friday.
Vehicles of all types leave the car park at 7.30pm.
Members of the community are encouraged to nominate their favourite Christmas lights.
Nominators are placed in a draw to win $100.
They can mail or lodge the nomination coupon at The North West Star office.
