The LNP has announced it has endorsed Bob Andersen to once again take on Labor's Anthony Lynham for the seat of Stafford, which he lost in a historic swing against the LNP in July.

Mr Andersen, a Queensland Health psychologist, ran for the LNP in the seat following Chris Davis's resignation.

His campaign became notable for its use of red wigs on volunteers, a nod to Mr Andersen's own ginger locks.

He lost the by-election to Dr Lynham in a 19.1 per cent swing.  At the time, Mr Andersen said he didn't know if the result was a comment against him or the party.

But in announcing Mr Andersen's candidacy, LNP President Bruce McIver appears to have made up his own mind.

"Bob campaigned hard in the Stafford by-election earlier this year and experienced first hand the unprecedented union scare campaign based on lies," he said.

"Bob knows the issues important to the people of Stafford and will make a strong local voice in the Newman LNP Government."

Mr Andersen said he was ready for round two.

"The Newman LNP government is making real progress in improving the delivery of frontline services and has a strong plan to continue making progress to benefit the people of Stafford," he said.

"I will be the strong local voice Stafford deserves in government."

Mr Andersen's mid-year campaign also made headlines over rumours he was the author of troll accounts on social media - hich he strenuously denied - and his choice to go by the name Bob, a university nickname, and not Jared, the name he was given at birth.
