Australia Post Mount Isa Delivery Centre customer service officer Tamara Raymond and Tyrepower Mount Isa manager Damion O’Loughlin were presented with custom-made plaques after appreciative residents made it clear that great customer service never goes out of style.
Deputy Mayor Brett Peterson said customer service excellence played a key role in business success and strongly influenced consumers to spend their shopping dollars in Mount Isa.
‘‘Both award recipients received an overwhelming amount of support from the public,’’ Cr Peterson said.
‘‘Ms Raymond was widely recognised for her polite and helpful demeanour at the delivery centre pick-up window.
‘‘And Mr O’Loughlin’s nominations included one from out-of-towners who had suffered a punctured tyre while travelling through the city and were assisted outside of normal trading hours.
‘‘This type of feedback from shoppers is invaluable and particularly important in the fight to keep residents shopping locally.’’
The Customer Service Awards is a monthly program and people can nominate someone who provides exceptional customer service.
