A 29-year-old woman was allegedly beaten and raped in her Gold Coast home on Sunday afternoon in an apparently random attack.

Police have charged a 27-year-old Surfers Paradise man with rape, assault and theft offences.
They say he is not known to the victim.
The man is alleged to have broken into the woman's Ashmore home about 5pm Sunday while she was away.
Upon her return, he is alleged to have hit her on the back of the head before raping her and stealing items from her home.
Police will further allege the man then fled the scene in the woman's car.
The woman sought refuge with a neighbour, who called police.
Police Tasered the man when they located him later in the night and he allegedly attempted to evade capture.
He was arrested without further incident.
The man has been charged with burglary, assault with intent to rape, rape, deprivation of liberty, armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, serious assault police and wilful damage.
He has been remanded in custody to front court on Monday.
