Fewer buses and ferries will run during Christmas and New Year, but extra buses and ferries will run on New Year's Eve, Brisbane City Council says.

And your Council bins will be emptied on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, they promise.
Here is a list of what Brisbane City Council services are open over Christmas and into New Year.
Bus and ferry services
Brisbane's buses will operate a Sunday timetable on Christmas Day and Boxing Day with no night bus services on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
A Sunday timetable will also operate on New Year's Day.
On Christmas Day, CityCats will run every 30 minutes.
The CityHopper ferry services will run on public holiday timetables and there will be some changes to cross river services.
Ferries will run according to a normal public holiday timetable on Boxing Day.
However, on New Year's Eve there will be extra CityCat services from 6pm, with last services departing at around 1.30am.
The firework displays between approximately 8.20pm-8.50pm and 11.50pm-12.15am will delay some of the CityCat services.
On New Year's Day buses and ferries will run according the normal public holiday timetable.
New Farm's Sydney Street ferry terminal closes from 5 January for upgrade works.

Waste bin collection
Bins will be emptied on public holidays including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Residents should put bins out the night before as collections will start from 5am on Christmas Day to help the drivers get back to festivities with their families.
Council's transfer stations are open from 6.30am to 5.45pm every day of the year, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
Libraries
All 33 Council libraries will be closed on the Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day public holidays.
Pools
Council's 33 pools are closed on Christmas Day, but will be open every other day over the hot summer months.
City venues
The Planetarium is usually open from Tuesday to Sunday, but is closed on Mondays. During the Christmas/New Year period it will be closed on 25th and 26th December as well as New Year's Day.
Victoria Park Golf Complex and St Lucia Golf Links will be closed on Christmas Day but open on all other public holidays.
Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha remains open 365 days per year to the public.
Libraries and museums
The Museum of Brisbane in City Hall in Adelaide Street is also open seven days a week with exhibitions on Brisbane author David Malouf, fashion from the Golden Age of Hollywood and the history of the Brisbane River.
The Museum of Brisbane is open seven days a week.
The Brisbane Planetarium at Mt Cootha's Botanical Gardens has the exhibition "Moons: World of Mystery."
The Planetarium is not open Monday, nor public holidays.
January "Chill-Out" school holiday activities
The Council has organised 75 low-cost sports, arts and drama activities at a range of suburban venues throughout Brisbane during the January school holidays.
The Council's Chill-Out program targets 10 to 17 year olds with sporting activities such as indoor rock climbing and abseiling, boxing, introduction to martial arts, kayaking and laser tag.
There are also creative workshops including mask making, acting, film production, song writing, pottery and hip hop dance.
