But pictures and videos of the company's highly anticipated annual pre-Christmas office slip 'n slide has this year gone viral, prompting just one question in office workers across the globe.

"Is this the world's best workplace?"

The slippery, soapy tradition takes place in the Queen Street office on the last working day before each Christmas, according to group spokeswoman Kellie Carty.

"The annual slip 'n slide is a tradition in our head office and has been running for about six years now," she said.

"It's a great way to end the year and come together to celebrate."

 

And while footage of the festive event has been posted in previous years, it took just one picture on the online social media blog site reddit.com following Friday morning's event to prompt widespread sharing on a variety of social media platforms.

An employee who wished to remain anonymous said while only a handful of employees actually took part, the company's one thousand plus head office workers crammed onto one floor to look on.

"It's a lot of fun and everyone loves getting into it," she said.

"Lots of people get involved, it's just a big tarp and people are invited to do the slip 'n slide, it's open to everyone in head office.

"We set it up in the morning and we do it for about half an hour.

"It's just become a tradition, we do it every December before everyone takes off on holidays."

The employee said there was an unofficial trophy for the person who managed to slide the furthest, and, after six years, many costumes were now being ergonomically designed to increase the chances of distance success, aiding the mountains of detergent placed on the tarp.

"Everyone loves it loves to watch and have a bit of a laugh," the employee said.

"I think we all think its the best place to work. A lot of the comments on reddit were saying it's a nice way to wind down and end the year in a relaxed and casual way."
